I joined the DHI as design researcher in 2015 and am based in the Innovation School at The Glasgow School of Arts. My role involves applying design innovation approaches and visual methods to engage people in rethinking current health and social care challenges.
With a Masters in Design (for services) and a background in interior architecture, I have previously worked as a freelance designer with clients including NHS Scotland, Scottish Social Services Council and Dundee City Council, focusing on engaging people in the process of designing new and improved services.
Since joining the team I have worked on a variety of projects such as Digital Streets looking at the role of digital in improving street accessibility in Elgin; Nursing Records and Open Innovation which explored the challenges of record keeping and considered new ways of keeping nursing records that are accessible and valuable; and Ritual Respect which explored emotional support for women around miscarriage.
