Kate is a Public Health doctor who has joined DHI to gain experience in innovation in digital health and care. She is committed to understanding the potential role of digital technology in improving the health of the population, reducing health inequalities, and improving services for staff and citizens.
The design of our spaces, including our built environment, our healthcare system, and our digital environment has an impact on our health and wellbeing. Kate believes that working with citizens and services in co-design is an integral part of transforming healthcare. Digital technology offers an opportunity to enable and empower citizen’s to have an active role in managing their health.
She has 10 years of experience in clinical medicine, including specialising in Palliative Medicine. She has a Master’s in Public Health, and is based in NHS Lothian. She has experience in using health data, evidence-based practice, health improvement, and service design in public sector.
