Paul is a design innovation researcher and practitioner with the DHI. His role focusses on working with multi discipline teams to develop person centred, sustainable heath care solutions.
Paul’s research and teaching centres on co-designing and sustainable design for the future economy, with a special interest in human centred design.
His projects have included collaboration with private and public partners from the NHS, Scottish Government, and Zero Waste Scotland.
Paul earned his PhD from Lancaster University in 2011 in advanced manufacturing engineering. He has presented EPSRC and AHRC funded design research on both co-design and sustainable design nationally and internationally, and has published in peer reviewed journals.
Paul is part of the DHI design team responsible for design led research and development for future health care in Scotland.
