7.5 FTE scholarships are currently available during round 2 of the application process. The deadline for the second round of applications for 2022-23 funding intake is 31 August 2022.

The scholarships are at £7,387 each and provided on a fee-waiver basis only*.

Students wishing to apply should ask their course organisers to send any applications to the DHI via scholarships@dhi-scotland.com by the August 31st deadline.

How to apply:

  • Apply to a Digital Health and Care master’s course at your chosen Scottish university.
    • It is the responsibility of the university to check the applicants eligibility for the funding **
  • Select one of the strategic themes of the DHI to align your MSc or MRes dissertation work (these will be announced shortly and published on the DHI’s website). This is a requirement for DHI funding.
  • The course leader/coordinator will apply to the DHI by 31st August 2022, with the start date, student’s selected theme for dissertation and whether the student is FT/PT.
    • We will prioritise applications from dedicated taught Digital Health and Care master’s courses.
    • Other taught master’s courses are deemed eligible (e.g. MSc in Nursing), if they contain sufficient taught digital health and care content. This needs to be demonstrated by the course leader at the application phase.
    • For MRes applications a research proposal (max 2000 words) is required.
    • The funding is not available for MPhil applications.
  • The DHI will review the applications and inform the applicants’ university by mid-July.
  • The host university and the University of Strathclyde sign a scholarships agreement.
  • The host university/course will invoice the DHI/University of Strathclyde for the funding.
  • If there should be more applicants than available places, the DHI will allocate places proportionately between the applying institutions, who will then select the most successful candidates for the scholarships.
  • If any of the scholarships are left over after the June deadline, they will be added to the 2 FTE available in the second round of applications with a deadline set in August. This will be announced after the June deadline.

Please, note that successful students must align their final MSc projects with the DHI’s strategic themes:
