Digital Pioneers Mental Health Fund Open for Applications in Scotland

Charities, voluntary and community groups, and other not-for-profit organisations working with people with moderate to severe and enduring mental health conditions across Scotland can apply for funding to support impactful digital inclusion work.

SCVO is offering grants of up to £50,000 for charities, voluntary and community groups, social enterprises, and CICs across Scotland to support impactful digital inclusion projects and activities in a mental health context.

The Digital Pioneers Mental Health Fund will support impactful digital inclusion to develop, test, and implement digital inclusion models in a mental health context that:

  • Support people to have greater access to and awareness of digital services and resources that can support them to live well, self-manage, and positively impact their wider health and well-being.
  • Support people who are digitally excluded and those working with them (eg staff, peer supporters, volunteers etc) to be digitally confident and develop essential digital skills.
  • Support people to have access to opportunities online and connections to communities that are important to them for their health and well-being.
  • Contribute learning to understand the scale and sustainability of models of digital inclusion in mental health.

Proposed projects are expected to achieve the following outcomes using a person-centred approach to digital inclusion:

  • People will have improved access to mental health support and wider services.
  • People have improved their digital skills and feel more digitally confident.
  • People will have improved well-being and increased connections because of digital inclusion work.
  • People who provide support or work in a mental health context will have improved skills and confidence to engage and support people to be digitally included.
  • Digital Pioneer organisations will contribute to developing a sustainable model of digital inclusion, at scale, in a mental health context.

Funding can be used for both revenue costs, such as salaries and other delivery costs, and capital costs, such as the purchase of digital devices and connectivity.

The deadline for applications is 26 May 2023 (1100).
