DHI assisted NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) to re-purpose the existing trauma app, developed by GGC clinicians, into a user-friendly tool that allows front-line staff to undertake a structured assessment and examination of people presenting with Covid-19 type symptoms.

This solution has now been deployed into all GGC assessment centres with further roll out to emergency departments across the region. Discussions and development work are underway with GGC and NES to scale this beyond Glasgow, to also include care homes the option of National roll out if required.

The Clinical Assessment Tool has been used for over three thousand assessments of patients in the Glasgow area. It has fed early intelligence into surveillance systems to help identify outbreaks earlier. This is currently being scaled up to other boards in Scotland
