About the event

As populations age, the need for proactive, empowering solutions becomes more urgent.

This session brings together experts from Scotland and Finland to share cutting-edge solutions, research, and real-world strategies that support older adults in staying active, connected, and resilient.

Join us on Wednesday, the 29th of October 2025, for a dynamic webinar, hosted in collaboration by the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI), Scotland, and the Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK), Finland.

This session explores how digital innovation and community-driven approaches are reshaping the future of healthy aging with a special focus on remote and rural areas.

Chair: Janette Hughes, Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre

Speakers:

From Scotland

  • Dr Adrian Smales (the National Robotarium / Multiverse) will discuss new approaches to frailty prevention

  • Professor Sarah-Anne Munoz (NES National Centre for Remote and Rural Health and Care) presents on digital community approaches to supporting healthy ageing in remote and rural areas.

From Finland

  • Mr Kyösti Koskela (Games Development Team Lead from KAMK), will present a visualisation tool that helps elderly users track physical activity and diet, turning data into motivation

  • Ms Minna Malinen (InnoXR Project Coordinator), will share insights into how innovations are designed and implemented within Finland’s wellbeing services.

The full agenda will be shared at a later date.

Whether you're working in health, tech, policy, community care or research, this webinar offers fresh perspectives and practical inspiration for building a healthier future - together.
