SAFE-XR Project Update

The SAFE-XR (Safety Planning for Suicide Prevention XR) project continues to make strong progress as it moves into its next phase of user testing and product refinement.

Over recent months, the project team has been working closely with partners across healthcare, education, research, and lived experience communities to further develop the immersive XR learning modules.

Feedback gathered through earlier engagement activities has already helped shape improvements to usability, accessibility, learner confidence, and real-world relevance.

Upcoming Focus Groups - August 2026

A key milestone for the project will be a new series of in-person focus groups taking place across three days at the University of Glasgow ARC-XR Lab in August 2026.

The team is keen to hear from a wide range of participants, including:

• Educators and trainers

• Health and social care professionals

• Students and workforce learners

• People with lived experience

• Organisations interested in future implementation

These sessions will provide an opportunity to experience the SAFE-XR modules, share feedback directly with the project team, and help shape the final stages of development ahead of the planned launch in January 2027.
