Industry Collaboration Award Win

SCOTCAP scoops the Industry Collaboration Award at the 2021 Holyrood Connect Digital Health and Care Scotland Awards

Today, Friday 26 February, SCOTCAP won the Industry Collaboration Award at the coveted Holyrood Connect Digital Health and Care Scotland Awards 2021 as an exemplar of partnership working between innovative private-sector vendors and the public sector working together to achieve wide-scale transformation of health and social care services.

The three shortlisted finalists were:

  1. Communicare 24/7 - Project Liberty
  2. Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre - SCOTCAP project
  3. Giraffe Healthcare CIC - Giraffe Healthcare CIC and NHS Lanarkshire Getting Podiatry Services Back On Their Feet

It was just unfortunate that there could only be one winner.

The Scottish Capsule Programme is an integral part of the national redesign of outpatient gastroenterology services as it enables early and effective screening in the community, avoiding unnecessary referrals for hospital outpatient appointments.

The Scottish Government commissioned the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre to lead this project in collaboration with NHS NSS, NHS Highland, NHS Western Isles and NHS Grampian, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Medtronic, Corporate Health International Limited, University of Aberdeen and the University of Strathclyde.

Following the successful completion of the evaluation project, it was confirmed that the new innovative SCOTCAP service delivery model developed will now be adopted by NHS Scotland as part of the Covid-19 Remobilisation plans for Endoscopy Services over the coming months not only benefiting NHS Scotland but the wider Life Sciences Community generated economic growth and jobs for Industry/ SME’s specialising based in remote and rural regions in Scotland.
